Challenges & Tests

 Music and Lyrics: Marvin Dreyer
After a bout with cancer, and in retrospect, I wrote about this theme in Spanish.  Then, here in English.
        C            F               C                      F
The pitfalls of life, our challenges, and tests,

                 C                  F    C                     D                 G

what we perceive as problems could be blessings instead

                F               Fm         C            F

Take a breath and relax and try to discern,

   C                   F                    C             G7

Hidden in this test there's a lesson to learn.

        F              C                  F        C

We pray for guidance, His Holy Will

   F                       C                                  F          G

supplicating for providence then we're doubtful still.

             F                             Fm          C                      F

Time passes and looking back and much to our surprise,

          C                                                          G7

That test so stressful was a blessing in disguise.

      F                       C            F                  C

Detachment’s not easy our tests can be hard.

          F                C           F            G7

But heartfelt certainty is what's required.

           F                    Fm                C              F

If we conquer this outlook at the end of the day

            C                  F              C           G7

what seemed to be tests just vanish away.

           C             F                C               F

So, here's a suggestion on how to proceed.

                  C                    F C                     F                     G7

Connect firmly to our Creator you know that's what you need.

     F                     Fm          C                   F

Deliver your best efforts relaxed and controlled.

         C                                                                     G  C

Embrace your detachment and watch providence unfold.
